I'm forever hacking "currently" and "at present" and the like out of sentences. "Dr Smith is currently an associate professor ..." What's that extra word doing in there taking up space?
Not as satisfying as chopping an unnecessary clause of about 10 words off the start of sentence like I did this week, but every little bit helps. :)
It is SO satisfying to hack out "currently." I worry that some slip by me. But the ones that don't sure feel good.
"Formerly" is another that can be very satisfying to chop.
