I've been dark for a few days, and I will be for a few more (I'll 'splain when I'm back up and running), but had to log on once to say: IT'S HERE!
My new book, Mortal Syntax, is out tomorrow.
It's a list of the 101 most-clobbered usage choices -- stuff grammar snobs pick on (think I feel badly, I could care less, so fun, like used for such as, etc.. For each item, I check my reference sources and determine whether the usage is really bad language choice or just a myth.
Thanks for indulging this shameless self-promotion and I'll be back from the dark to resume regular posts soon.

I was at a bookstore today, and so I popped over to the words/grammar section. There it was -- and I brought it home with me. Can't wait to read it. Congratulations!
If you don't mind, after I have read it, I'd like to put a short review on my web site. I'm not a reviewer, and I only have three or four visitors to my site, but you might pick up a new reader or two...

Wow, June, huge congratulations! :-) I just discovered your blog, and it's a great read! Much more fun than the ACES grammar message board. Can't wait to check out your new book. I hope it's just the second of many to come.
Congratulations June! I finished Mortal Syntax and it is brilliant. It has become my staff selection choice at work for the month!
June - I guess it is inevitable that people hearing you speak try to catch you in mistakes. I did so today, when you said on NPR that you are (I paraphrase) "one of those people who WANTS to be persnickity." The relative clause "who _______ to be persnickity modifies "people," not "one," so the verb should be plural: "I am one of those people who want to be persnickity." (I find that virtually no one gets this right, but I hope the frequency of the error doesn't trump something as basic as subject-verb agreement.
Bill: Good catch! And you'll get no argument from me on that one!
